This past Saturday, Wester-Amstel was the exclusive domain of newlyweds Abhishek Mangla and Charlotte Hugman.
Abhishek first became involved with Wester-Amstel in 2017, responding to a call for volunteers to help create our audio tour. Since 2022, he has also been part of the organising team behind our Jazz at Wester-Amstel concerts. There’s a good chance you’ve been greeted by him at one of these events.
Er is veel gebeurd in het leven van Abhishek. Zo kwam hij in 2010 als Indiaas staatsburger naar Nederland voor een opleiding aan het Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Ondertussen spreekt hij vloeiend Nederlands, heeft hij een management opleiding aan Nyenrode afgerond en is hij Nederlands burger geworden. En hij heeft Charlotte aan de haak geslagen.
It wasn’t love at first sight—but after an initial date, Abhishek invited Charlotte to a Jazz at Wester-Amstel concert. That’s when the spark truly ignited! So it’s no surprise the couple chose Wester-Amstel as the setting for their wedding ceremony.
Not everything in Abhishek and Charlotte’s life is perfect—they’ve recently become residents of Utrecht. But thankfully, they still know their way to Wester-Amstel. We welcome them with open arms!
