The false-pretext circus was in full swing once again. Our volunteer, Bill Admiraal, was lured to Amstelveen Town Hall on Friday, 25 April, under the guise of a meeting for the newly formed Stichting Urgente Noden (Urgent Needs Foundation). He had prepared thoroughly—but the meeting never took place.
Instead, he was welcomed warmly in the reception hall, where he was appointed a Member of the Order of Orange-Nassau by Mayor Tjapko Poppens, in the name of His Majesty the King. The royal honour recognises his many and impressive contributions to the Amstelveen community.
Among these is his longstanding dedication as a volunteer with the Wester-Amstel park group, where his love of hands-on work, commitment to safety, attentive ear, and warm personality shine through. Bill is more than deserving of this distinction.
You can find out more about this special day—including details about Bill and the other recipients appointed as Members of the Order of Orange-Nassau—by reading the article on the Municipality of Amstelveen website.
