The maintenance of our park, historic orchard, ornamental garden, herb garden, butterfly garden, vegetable garden, and cottage garden is overseen by a friendly group of volunteers from the Friends of Wester-Amstel Foundation. The Garden Group takes care of the various gardens, the Park Group maintains the park and orchard. They are currently looking for more volunteers to strengthen each group.
For our Garden Group we are looking for a gardening enthusiast with extensive knowledge of plants and garden maintenance. You will join a nice team of women and a few men. We oversee the gardens on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Halfway through the day, we enjoy a nice coffee (or tea) break together. In the winter months we meet one morning a week for maintenance.
For our Park Group we are looking for someone who knows how to get things done, and who is not afraid to do some tough jobs. The Park Group works on Saturdays between 10:00 and 14:00 and consists mainly of men. They also enjoy taking a coffee break each time.
Through our groups, we are able to offer you a unique opportunity to keep the beautiful, historic gardens, park and orchard on Wester-Amstel in top condition.
