Amstelland Day 2026 – will you be joining us to celebrate the anniversary?

Sunday 7 June is the day: Amstelland Day! This year is a special edition, as we are celebrating the 20th anniversary of this much-loved event. A wonderful milestone to reflect together on everything that makes Amstelland so special.

As is tradition, the festive opening will take place at Wester-Amstel. From 10:00, we will open our gates and warmly welcome you with coffee and tea, a delicious pastry from Bakker Out and the rousing sounds of the Accu Band. At 10:30, Alderman Floor Gordon of the municipality of Amstelveen will perform the official opening. The Amstelland Prize 2026 will also be awarded at this time.

After the opening, there will be plenty to do. On the grounds, you will find a variety of stalls, where this year there will also be plenty of local food to sample. A great opportunity to discover the flavours of the region.

At 11:30, a special exhibition on 20 years of change in the Amstelland region opens in the Park Hall – a retrospective showing how the landscape and its use have evolved over the years.

Would you like to get to know Wester-Amstel better? Then join one of the guided tours at 12:30 or 14:00 pm. Our volunteers will take you on a journey through the estate’s rich history and unique natural surroundings.

At 14:00, a much-loved tradition is on the programme: our sheep are being helped out of their winter coats. Always a lively and entertaining moment for young and old alike.

Joep Grotendorst Quartet
We’ll bring the day to a festive close at 15:00 with a free outdoor concert by the Joep Grotendorst Quartet. Twenty-one-year-old Joep, from Amstelveen, leads a talented jazz ensemble that won first prize at the Princess Christina Jazz Competition in December 2025. Their strength lies in their collective interplay: four friends telling their musical story together.

In short, there is plenty to see, do and experience throughout the day. Would you like to know more about Amstelland Day and the programme at other venues? Then visit the Beschermers Amstelland website: www.beschermersamstelland.nl/.

We hope to see you at Wester-Amstel!
